In Her Words:
"I grew up in Omaha and went to college in Blair, NE. From 2003 until 2009, I lived in Denver, CO and worked in marketing until my husband and I decided to have kids and stay at home. We moved back to Omaha a little over a year before I had my second child. My kids are 2.75 and 6 months and are wonderfully exhausting. My daily life is a jumble of diaper changing, preschool drop offs, toy pick-ups and looking at the clock until Andy gets home from work. While I love staying at home, the monotony of daily life can be challenging. In an effort to do something for myself, outside of being a wife and mother, I have just starting training for my first half marathon (in February). I have never been a runner and usually complain about the monotony of the whole exercise. Yet, I feel inspired to complete something that is 100% for myself. I am currently looking for chances to do something outside of my comfort zone now that I am a stay at home mom. This is why this photo project peaked my interest."
Her Community:
"I live in VERY suburban West Omaha. It is not where I ever expected to end up, but with two kids, we wanted the space and a large yard. My “community” is friendly but reserved. I live in the land of “strip malls” and SUV’s. I hate to admit that it fits us perfectly right now. I do miss the diversity and small neighborhood feel of Denver. People in my community don’t sit on their front porches in the evening, chatting with the neighbors that stroll by. My neighborhood is a mix of young families and older couples who have lived in their homes since they were built over 20 years ago."
